FCAA's Deputy Director, Misty Stenslie, along with 5 mental health experts provided testimony on this important topic to prompt action in the area of services and access to mental health care for people in and from foster care.  The testimony included personal experience as well as sharing quotes and postcards from FCAA alumni members across the country, drawing attention to issues of overmedication of youth in foster care, lack of stability in services, and the need for young people in care to have a voice in all decisions about their own lives.

Quotes in the congressional testimony were taken from FCAA's current survey of members about health and mental health care.  Click here if you would like to take the survey and contribute to our ongoing focus on improving the health of people in and from foster care.
