Survey Results: Supports for a Successful Return Home

In March, we asked you to help the National Foster Care Youth and Alumni Policy Council gather information on reunification services for alumni. We sent out a survey called “Reunification Survey: Supports for a Successful Return Home.”

The Council wanted to know about your experience returning home from foster care and the services you received. Many of you responded, and thanks to your efforts, the Council can now use this information to help improve the resources available to young people in foster care and champion services that would lead to more successful returns home.

During the Council’s in-person meeting in April, they presented key findings to the Associate Commissioner at the Children’s Bureau, Jerry Milner. In June, the Council presented key findings to stakeholders in child welfare on a webinar hosted by Casey Family Programs.

Since the Council would not be able to have such a far-reaching impact without your input, we wanted to share the key findings with you! We encourage you to use this information in the work you do with children, youth, and families.

Check out the survey results below:

Thank you again for your input. It is invaluable to the collective voice of youth and alumni that the National Foster Care Youth and Alumni Policy Council represents!
